NXP's Freedom development platforms are small, low-power, cost-effective evaluation and development systems perfect for quick application prototyping and demonstration of Kinetis MCU families. The platforms offer an easy-to-use mass-storage device mode flash programmer, a virtual serial port, and classic programming and run-control capabilities.
The FRDM-KL05Z Freedom development platform is an ultra-low cost development platform, but enabled by the Kinetis L Series KL0x MCU family built on the ARM® Cortex™-M0+ processor.
FRDM-KL25Z Freedom development platform is also an ultra-low cost development platform enabled by Kinetis L Series KL1x and KL2x MCUs families built on ARM Cortex-M0+ processor.
The FRDM-KL02Z is an ultra-low-cost development platform enabled by the Kinetis L series KL02 family built on the ARM Cortex-M0+ processor.
Both platforms feature easy access to MCU I/O, battery-ready, low-power operation, a standard-based form factor with expansion board options, and a built-in debug interface for flash programming and run-control. They are both supported by a range of NXP and third-party development software.
