MP2639A Switching Chargers: Monolithic Power Systems MP2639A Switching Chargers are highly integrated, flexible, switch-mode, battery charging management device for 2-cell series Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries. These MP2639A switching chargers work in charge mode, discharge mode, and sleep mode. The switching chargers are capable of charging a 2-cell battery from a 5V adapter or USB input. These MP2639A switching chargers limit the die temperature to a preset value of 120ºC for a safe operation. Features include battery temperature monitoring, a programmable timer to prevent prolonged charging of a dead battery, over-voltage protection, and thermal shutdown.
