TISP4xxxM3BJ Overvoltage Protectors
The Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ Overvoltage Protector Series is a range of devices designed to limit overvoltages on telephone lines. The Bourns TISP4xxxM3BJ devices are symmetrical voltage-triggered bidirectional thyristors that provide 2-point protection against overvoltages normally caused by AC power system or lightning flash disturbances. When the voltage rises to the breakover level, these Bourns overvoltage protectors will clamp and switch into a low-voltage on state, which causes the current resulting from the overvoltage to be safely diverted through the device. The high crowbar holding current helps prevent DC latchup as the diverted current subsides. The 2-point protection design makes the TISP4xxxM3BJ well-suited for 2-wire telecommunication equipment. Combinations of devices can be used for multi-point protection.
TISP Thyristor Overvoltage Protectors
Bourns TISP® Thyristor Surge Protectors are surge protective devices with characteristics very different than the normal SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) and TRIAC (Triode for AC Control) type thyristors. Thyristor Surge Protector Device current parameters cover a range from a few nanoamps to hundreds of amps. A similar situation exists for thyristor SPD voltages, where there can be a wide range from several volts to hundreds. These TISP products are specially designed to provide protection for telecommunications equipment in instances where high voltages occur as a result of lightning strikes, power line crosses, or a/c power surges.
RS-485 Transceiver Protection Solutions
Bourns & Analog Devices RS-485 Transceiver Protection Solutions offer electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliant solutions for three protection levels for popular RS-485 communication ports. Each solution has been tested and characterized to ensure the dynamic interaction between transceiver and the protection circuit components functions together to protect against electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrical fast transients (EFT), and surge immunity specified in IEC 61000-4-2, IEC61000-4-4, and IEC61000-4-5. The circuits offer protection for RS-485 interfaces using the ADM3485E against ESD, EFT, and surge levels found in harsh environments.Learn More
