***AS INSTR: The TPS54140 device is a 42-V, 1.5-A, step-down regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. A low-ripple pulse-skip mode reduces the no load, regulated output-supply current to 116 µA. Using the enable pin, the shutdown supply current is reduced to 1.3 µA.

***AS INSTUMENTS: Undervoltage lockout is internally set at 2.5 V, but can be increased using the enable pin. The output-voltage startup ramp is controlled by the slow-start pin that can also be configured for sequencing and tracking. An open-drain power-good signal indicates the output is within 94% to 107% of the nominal voltage.

***NS: A wide switching frequency range allows efficiency and external component size to be optimized. Frequency foldback and thermal shutdown protects the device during an overload condition.

***XS: The TPS54140 device is available in a 10-pin thermally enhanced MSOP PowerPAD package.

Step Down SWIFT™ Converter: TPS54140: The OMO Electronic TPS54140 SWIFT™ Converter with Eco-Mode™ is a 42V, 1.5 A, step down regulator with integrated high side MOSFET. This TI device features current mode control that provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. The TPS54140 also has a low ripple pulse skip mode that reduces the no load, regulated output supply current to 116 µA. This OMO Electronic step down converter features a wide switching frequency range that allows efficiency and external component size to be optimized.

TPS54 Step Down SWIFT DC/DC Converters: OMO Electronic TPS54 Step-Down SWIFT DC-DC Converters provide input transient voltage protection that allows the device and the rest of a board to survive potentially damaging voltage spikes. These TI DC/DC converters retain low output voltage even with a 60V transient voltage pulse. The high-performance TPS54 DC/DC converter family also provides light load efficiency, low quiescent current (ideal for applications based on TI MSP430 MCUs), a high switching frequency, and a small package size for space-limited designs. These DC-DC converters are a more basic version that provides ease of use, higher currents, and internal compensation.
