TISP40xxH1BJ VLV Overvoltage Protectors
Bourns TISP40xxH1BJ VLV Overvoltage Protectors are designed to control overvoltages on digital telecommunication lines. TISP40xxH1BJ series protectors consist of a symmetrical voltage-triggered bidirectional thyristor. Overvoltages are initially stopped by breakdown clamping until the voltage rises to the breakover level, which triggers the device to crowbar into a low-voltage on-state condition. This low-voltage on-state allows the current resulting from the overvoltage to be safely diverted through the device. The device switches off when the diverted current drops below the holding current value.
TISP Thyristor Overvoltage Protectors
Bourns TISP® Thyristor Surge Protectors are surge protective devices with characteristics very different than the normal SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) and TRIAC (Triode for AC Control) type thyristors. Thyristor Surge Protector Device current parameters cover a range from a few nanoamps to hundreds of amps. A similar situation exists for thyristor SPD voltages, where there can be a wide range from several volts to hundreds. These TISP products are specially designed to provide protection for telecommunications equipment in instances where high voltages occur as a result of lightning strikes, power line crosses, or a/c power surges.
