The FAN7621 is a pulse frequency modulation controller for high-efficiency half-bridge resonant converters. Offering everything necessary to build a reliable and robust resonant converter, the FAN7621 simplifies designs and improves productivity, while improving performance. The FAN7621 includes a high-side gate-drive circuit, an accurate current controlled oscillator, frequency limit circuit, soft-start, and built-in protection functions. The high-side gate-drive circuit has a common-mode noise cancellation capability, which guarantees stable operation with excellent noise immunity. Using the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) technique dramatically reduces the switching losses and efficiency is significantly improved. The ZVS also reduces the switching noise noticeably, which allows a small-sized Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) filter The FAN7621 can be applied to various resonant converter topologies; such as series resonant, parallel resonant, and LLC resonant converters.

The KA7500C is used for the control circuit of the pulse-width modulation switching regulator. The FAN1577A is a high-efficiency, voltage-mode, dual-channel, synchronous DC-DC PWM controller for two independent outputs. The two channels are operated out of phase. The internal reference voltage is trimmed to 0.7 V 1.0%. It is connected to the error amplifier’s positive terminal for voltage feedback regulation. A soft-start circuit ensures the output voltage can be gradually and smoothly increased from zero to its final regulated value. The soft-start pin can also be used for chip-enable function. When two soft-start pins are grounded, the chip is disabled, and the total operation current can be reduced to under 0.7 mA. The fixed-frequency is programmable from 61 kHz to 340 kHz. The Over-Current Protection (OCP) level can be programmed by an external current-sense resistor. It has two integrated sets of internal MOSFET drivers. FAN1577A is available in a 20-pin small-outline package (SOP).

The TL1451A incorporates on a single monolithic chip all the functions required in the construction of two pulse-width-modulation (PWM) control circuits. Designed primarily for power-supply control, the TL1451A contains an on-chip 2.5-V regulator, two error amplifiers, an adjustable oscillator, two dead-time comparators, undervoltage lockout circuitry, and dual common-emitter output transistor circuits.

The uncommitted output transistors provide common-emitter output capability for each controller. The internal amplifiers exhibit a common-mode voltage range from 1.04 V to 1.45 V. The dead-time control (DTC) comparator has no offset unless externally altered and can provide 0% to 100% dead time. The on-chip oscillator can be operated by terminating RT and CT. During low VCC conditions, the undervoltage lockout control circuit feature locks the outputs off until the internal circuitry is operational.
