Wurth Electronics' WE-STAR-TEC and STAR-TEC LFS series are available for cables with diameters from 3.5 mm to 25 mm. The difference between the two series is the core material. STAR-TEC ferrites have NiZn cores for supplementary interference suppression in the 1 MHz to 1 GHz range, whereas the STAR-TEC LFS series features an MnZn core for a low-frequency suppression range from 300 kHz to 30 MHz (see diagram below). Both STAR-TEC snap ferrites are notable for their user-friendliness. The pre-fixed cable facilitates processing and cable clamping protection, preventing errors when attaching to cables. The ferrites can be opened and refitted at any time with the patented safety key. The internal security locking system prevents unauthorized removal of the cable without the key.

WE-STAR-TEC Applications
- EMC ferrite for the additional EMI suppression in the frequency area from 1 MHz to 1 GHz
- Fastening for round cables with diameter 3.5 mm to 25.0 mm or if winding more turns through the ferrite
- Reusable because of the key technology, making it perfect for test and measuring purposes in EMC labs
WE-STAR-TEC LFS Applications
- Applications in the low-frequency range from 300 kHz to 30 MHz
- Perfect for applications with varying cable diameter
- Reusable because of the key technology, making it perfect for test and measuring purposes and cables with difficult access
- Suppression of electronic ballasts (i.e. neon tube) in the lighting industry
